Summer Skincare Guide

by Kierra Lanice

Everyone wants flawless makeup but who really wants to do all those steps seen on Youtube. Whether you have 90 minutes to get ready of 10 minutes before flying out the door, here is a complete makeup routine guide for every skill level. There are no rules in makeup (other than blend like your life depends on it) so take your pick and have fun!

Preparation - Skincare

Your makeup will only look as good as the skin underneath it so preparation is key! Products look better and last longer on a clean, well hydrated and moisturized face.

  1. Cleanse

  2. Exfoliate (1-3 times weekly)

  3. Tone

  4. Serum - For targeted skincare concerns

  5. Moisturize

  6. Protect with Sunscreen

  7. Prime; if you’re oily, try setting your primer will a setting powder for extra security

The Canvas

In order to paint, one must start with the canvas, the skin. This year is all about breathable, healthy, flawless but realistic skin. The days of cakey faces are long gone. Get into this skin!

  1. Foundation, BB Cream, Tinted Moisturizer

  2. Concealer

  3. Setting Powder

Sculpt and Define

Chisel that face, add a flush of color or highlight those cheekbones for a little added spice.

  1. Contour/Bronzer

  2. Blush

  3. Highlighter

Eyebrows

Your eyebrows can make (or break) the face. Well groomed brows are certainly a focal point and give shape to the face. Rule of thumb: Eyebrows, start to tail, should go from light to dark and from thick to thin.

  1. Brow Wax

  2. Brow Pencil/Pomade

  3. Brow Powder

  4. Concealer (to clean up and sculpt)

  5. Brow Gel

Eyes

Someone once said that eyes are the windows to your soul. All I know is, if you can smile with your eyes, make them as big and bright as possible!

  1. Eyeshadow primer/Concealer

  2. Eyeshadow

  3. Eyeliner

  4. Curl Lashes

  5. Mascara/False Lashes

Lips

Arguably the most seductive things on a woman’s body. You lips deserve to be hydrated, moisturized, plump and juicy.

  1. Lip Primer/balm

  2. Lip Liner

  3. Lipstick/Lip gloss

Finish the look with your favorite Setting Spray and off you go! ‪
