How QR Codes Can Change the Marketing Game for Small Businesses
The digital world can be extremely frustrating to navigate between system crashes and daily app updates, but it has never been easier for a business to market itself! One of the best digital innovations for small businesses is the QR code. A QR code, short for quick response code, is a scannable barcode that can provide a wide range of information directly to a person’s phone. In light of the pandemic, many restaurants have turned to displaying QR codes that allow customers to view their menus digitally. The best thing about this cool little box is that you can jump online and create a new code for a new digital destination whenever you need to. For my small business owners out there, here are some easy ways you can use QR codes to market your business:
Discounts and Promo Codes: You can add a QR code to a customer’s receipt that leads to a discount code for their next order or include a code in your email communications that allows customers to scan them at physical checkout for a custom promotion
Social Media: Include a QR code within your packaging that leads people directly to your business’s main social media page that they can follow and engage with
Website/Landing Page: Remove the hassle that comes along with trying to find and access a website through your phone, create a code that takes customers directly to your website
Location, Location, Location: If a potential customer visits your website and they want to visit your physical location, add a QR code to your website that allows them to pull out their phone, scan the code and get specific directions to your business location
Feedback Survey: Include a QR code in your email communications or receipts that takes customers to a quick survey they can complete about their buying experience, the quality of your service or product, etc.
These are only a handful of the ways that businesses can use QR codes to connect with their customer base. Not only are they extremely useful and efficient, but are a fun and easy way to engage with your customers outside of your typical marketing tactics.
Try it out and see!
