Declutter Your Life
While we sit in the house bored, it is a great time to evaluate everything that we have going on in life. Take a look around you. Are you pleased with what you see? Are there things that could be organized or removed? What about internally? Is your body and mind holding onto a lot of baggage? Now is your moment to help you declutter your life so that you can feel like your best self. When we rid ourselves of clutter, we increase our ability to better focus and process information. Here are a few suggestions to help you tidy up your space and mind.
Out With the Old
I know getting organized is always easier said than done, but if you take it one step at a time, you will get through all of your old “stuff.” When was the last time you wore that burgundy dress or those polka dot pants? Are you really interested in keeping them? Of course, you will not repeatedly wear your clothes all of the time, but if you haven’t worn something in a couple of years, it’s time to let it go. Grab some boxes or bags and ask yourself if you really need it. Once completed, you have the choice to either sell your old clothes or donate them. There are plenty of organizations seeking donations and selling clothes can also be a great side hustle for you. The choice is yours!
Once you’re done with your clothes, move onto other items that are taking up space. This includes the piles of paper, broken furniture, etc. Remember: trash, donate, or sell.
He Loves Me Not
Before you object to this one, just hear me out. Clutter is not only physical in our homes, but it is also mental. It’s time to start acknowledging those red flags and keeping away from negative people. They can keep us from being our best self because we are consistently being weighed down by their energy. Delete his or her number and push yourself to move onto bigger and better things. If deleting is not enough, hit the block button. Yes, moving on can be painful, but the emotional growth is incredibly rewarding.
Each year we should evaluate our growth in life. How are we progressing? Have we made significant strides? Sometimes sacrifices have to be made, but once we let go of things holding us back, it is only up from there.
