Hello Fall, Welcome Autumn
It’s official, let us all hold hands and mourn the end of crop tops, beach days and warm summer nights. This summer in particular seemed to go by a little faster than usual because it was the first summer back “outside” after a year of being in quarantine. Everyone it seemed was trying to travel more than usual, eat out more than they typically would in a given week and spend as much time as possible with family and friends and honestly, who could blame them? With the summertime in our rearview, I believe it is the perfect time to take a breath, reset and set new intentions for the new season we are in. I know that typically people set intentions for the new year, but I believe that it is more effective to take the time to re-evaluate your goals every season. 2020 showed all of us that life can change at the drop of a hat and it is important that we are able to pivot and adapt based on how our wants and needs will change every season.
The same way kids are getting ready to return to school, us as adults should also be preparing ourselves for the busier fall season. For most of us, fall marks the beginning of more meetings, less vacations and juggling everyone in your household’s schedule including your own. How can you show up better for yourself? What boundaries can you put in place to ensure everyone in your household feels seen and supported, including yourself? What goal did you set at the beginning of the year and how are you pacing toward it? How can you kick it into high gear in the final quarter of the year? Although the end of the summer is definitely bittersweet, look at this time as a fresh start and the perfect opportunity to set yourself on the right track to end the year strong.
